Griffith Park, Hollywood Engagement | Part II
Lindsay + Jason

When we left off with Lindsay + Jason, we were exploring the wonders of the Griffith Park Observatory.  We are always excited about new perspectives in engagement sessions, so we decided to take a stroll in the hills below the Observatory, in Griffith Park.

The results are definitely some of my favorite images from the day!

You may notice that the romance is kicked up a notch in these Griffith Park images, and I have a hunch as to why that is…

Griffith Park was where Lindsay + Jason had one of their very first dates!

We know, these two couldn’t get any more sweet. The tenderness! The love!

And on that note, friends, its time we reveal a secret:

The reason these photos feel so intimate? It’s because they are.

After we spend time becoming friends, couples feel at ease to do whatever feels natural to them. Mainly, flirting with each other.  And playing.  And sometimes nuzzling.

Although we’ll occasionally chant, “Kiss! Yay! More kisses!” (to prepare them for the wedding reception, of course), not a whole lot of posing is needed. It’s all about our three-step business plan:

1. Couple falls in love; 2. Couple contacts us as to be their engagement/wedding photographers; 3. We take photos of aforementioned love.

Of course,  sometimes we have to be sneaky to take photos of authentic moments.  As Lindsay + Jason can attest, we have tactics for slinking a short distance away during the session- so that we can snap some photos without being a distraction. I vividly remember crouching in the brush with some questionable insects so that we could get these shots. Worth it?

Because wherever love is, that’s where we want to be. What could be more beautiful?

As I’ve been writing this post, Etta James has been playing in the background, crooning in that sultry voice of hers:

I found a dream that I could speak to/ A dream that I could call my own/ I found a thrill to press my cheek to/ A thrill that I have never known/ Oh, and you smile, you smile / Oh, and then, the spell was cast / And here we are in heaven / For you are mine at last…

This is the kind of love we strive to catch each time we’re out with couples and our cameras: powerful, present, and filled with gratitude.

Lindsay + Jason, we were blessed to witness that kind of love through your relationship -

And we can’t wait to capture your Wedding Day!

What a joy.
