Corona Del Mar Family Portraits
Alex + Shelly + Ryan + Emily

My (Megan’s) cousin Alex, his lovely wife Shelly, and their adorable children, Ryan and Emily cope with Arizona’s stifling Summers by finding refuge in Corona del Mar.

So, when they booked a family portrait session during their vacation, we were thrilled to spend time with them in paradise!

The family was staying in a cottage just minutes from the beach, which seemed like the perfect arrangement for the kiddos.

Meet Ryan, and Elephant (who traveled all the way from Thailand with my world-traveling cousin, Andrew)!

And this cutie is named Emily! Aren’t her eyes mesmerizing? She seems like a deep thinker to me.

After a short trip, we arrived at our destination, complete with grassy cliffs and shallow coves.

Needless to say, it was gorgeous.

This is one of my favorite images from session. Particularly because the second before the shutter clicked, Ryan quoted Raffi (the first musician I ever saw in concert, circa 1987):

“Did you ever see a llama, wearing pajamas?!?”

“Did you ever see a moose, kissing a goose?!?”

So hilarious, Ryan! One of my biggest challenges as a photographer is holding the camera steady while I take photos and burst out in laughter simultaneously…

Because when a whole family joins in and asks,

“Did you ever see a bear, combing his hair?!?”

You just have to laugh!

I have a feeling that when these kiddos grow up, they’re going to look back on family vacations at Corona del Mar with such fondness…

What kid wouldn’t be in Heaven exploring the beach?

Or discovering tidepools with Mom?

Or having a laugh with Dad?

Or pondering the important questions in life, like:

“Did you ever see a goat riding in a boat?!?”

“Did you ever see a pig wearing a wig?!?”

I might be biased, but have you ever seen anyone as loveable as Ryan and Emily?

Must be good genes…

Alex + Shelly, thanks so much for a chance to capture your family’s cuteness!

Safe travels,

We hope you had a great vacation in Corona del Mar!
