Katey + Gabe are two of the kindest people you’ll meet.
I love it when great people have babies – it makes me feel like love is multiplying in the world.
Maternity photo sessions are one of our favorite things.
Like with engagement photosessions, we try to capture the couple’s love for one another (which was easy with Katey + Gabe).
We also observe the love the couple has for their expectant child.
Its photographs like this one that fill me with awe.
It is always special when we get to photograph people where they feel most comfortable and alive.
Katey loves to be home, and the nursery is her favorite room.
It is so touching..
The bedding has been carefully chosen,
And they even painted pieces of art just for their baby.
He or she is going to feel so welcomed in this place!
After the nursery, we headed outside for some images in natural light -
and seriously, doesn’t pregnancy look great on Katey?

These next few images represent my favorite part of photo sessions: relaxed, authentic interactions in a couple’s relationship.
In these photographs, I get to see a glimpse into their relationship. To me, it looks
kind,
tender,
playful,
contemplative,
connected.
And in love.
Something gets me about these photos in Katey + Gabe’s backyard –
the everyday-ness of relaxing on the back porch with a basket of laundry in the background
draws me into the moments here.
I love these reflections of the extraordinary miracle of life,
