Why Take Engagement Photos?
It’s the best way to become comfortable in front of the camera and around your wedding photographer. The lifestyle engagement session is an opportunity to take relaxed portraits in a low-pressure environment before the high energy of the wedding day.
Plus, it’s fun! The engagement session feels a bit like a double date. Most of our couples tell us they didn’t realize it would be so much fun! Our hope for you is that you and your fiance leave the session more in love than when you came.
Perhaps most importantly, it’s a chance for your photographers to tell the story of how you met through photography. Using the location, your outfits, and beautiful light as the backdrop, engagement photography can help tell the story leading up to the wedding day.
Also, engagement photos are awesome for “save the date” cards and invitations. Your engagement / wedding photographer can create cool wedding guest books or ceremony slideshows using them. Couples sometimes use the engagement pictures for center pieces at rehearsal dinners or weddings. The possibilities are endless!

Telling Your Proposal Story
Location matters. Whether it’s the corner booth you snuggled up in each Friday night at your favorite restaurant or “your spot” on Catalina Island where he dropped to one knee to propose, a location can be a very powerful ways to tell your story. Choosing a personally significant location for the engagement session just makes sense. What better way to express your love story than where you met, fell in love or proposed?
